Confidence in Him
The Sunday School lesson we discussed last Sunday brought some thoughts. In the book, "Cold Sassy Tree" one of the main character's interpretation of the verse, "Ask, and it shall be given you." Is this; that God meant to give us spiritual gifts and to answer in ways that our spiritual lives and soul would benefit. I wondered then if we ask amiss too often, and that it hinders our faith!..What does it do to a child's faith if you were to pray for a lost puppy to come home, and the puppy never came home?..But God could easily answer the child's prayer and the puppy would show up. He more readily would answer prayers for love, peace, patience, grace, and strength don't you think? When we become too worldly minded and become too attached to things down here, don't you think He is saddened by our misplaced love?
