Taking a Look

There are so many things in this world. A person can easily get overwhelmed by them all. There are also many perspectives we can have. Today I did get overwhelmed by them all. It seemed as if the way I viewed my life was through a veil of failure.
I tend to be careless at times and I don't think everything through before I get involved with my projects. I got stuck on the idea that I wanted to make my own curtain rods. I also thought it would be cheaper than buying them. As a result, my husband and I made a trip to the city last evening. We found what we needed; metallic oil rubbed bronze spray paint, 3 - 72" long wooden dowels, 1- 48" dowel, and 8 t-nuts from Lowe's, and 8 decorative knobs from hobby lobby. On our way home, my husband mentioned that the grommets on my curtains may not fit over the dowels we bought!..."gasp"...Sure enough! They slid on okay, but didn't allow the curtain to spread out over the rod. I was disappointed. The reason we had gone to the city and spent a whole evening on was wasted. To top it off, we ended up spending about the same amount on all this stuff as we would have by just buying already made curtain rods.
We are still trying to set our house up. The last couple of weeks, we have bought 2 light fixtures and drawer pulls for the kitchen cabinets. We are slowly getting our house furnished. I tend to get ahead of myself when it comes to all the things I think we need now! I want to spend our money wisely and make the best decisions I know to make. It has been lots of fun dreaming about the future and all the possibilities of our lives together!...I hope and pray that through the dreams and expectations we have, we can keep our eyes and mind on the more important things of this world.

John 11:9
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
