Oklahoma...my new life...my new home...my new world...

Yes, "new" is the word to describe. I'm married and moved from the only home I've ever known. I own a husband now! Together we own a pickup, a car, a house, another set of parents, and family. We also own an ironing board, an oven, our own cookware and utensils! This all happened within a few weeks! We have our own mailbox, a pecan tree, a shop, and a backyard sporting an old pink tub...we have lots of "new" goin on...
We also have new neighbors. Helen is an 88 yr. old lady that lives right next door to us. She goes to Vivian's every morning for breakfast (weather permitting) then goes to a senior center for lunch. She has 1 daughter, Ruth Anne and 2 sons (twins) Kieth and Kenneth. Helen told me that her boys got into a lot of trouble growing up. What one boy didn't think of, the other one did! Kieth and his wife Judy live in the house down at the end of our street. They keep Helen supplied with food and make sure she hasn't fallen. Helen told me yesterday while we were drinking some hot tea that, "Really they give me too much food because I don't do anything and I just don't really like to eat a whole lot!" Helen is a lonely lady so I will make it my duty and privilege to pay her some visits. Across the street from us lives a bachelor named Rikki. "He is about 65," Craig says,"and has never married." Just next door to Rikki lives a school teacher. Helen says, "She's always away from home. She must be a busy school teacher." The street that crosses ours going east to west is Railroad. It runs right along the train tracks. When I first seen the street sign I wondered if they had actually put that sign up for the actual railroad:) You know, just so people know that the railroad is called Railroad. Anyway, 1/4 mile down Railroad lives another school teacher. His name is Jeff. You wouldn't guess he was a school teacher by the looks of his yard. He has maybe 30 or so goats and 4 dogs. I've visited his place a couple times now to pet his baby goats and hold his beagle puppy named Jersey.

I have to talk about the new weather I've been experiencing. When we arrived a couple weeks ago, one could've just about mistaken the time of year for spring! The other day we got a good rain which turned into sleet. We woke up the next morning to a brilliantly white world. With the freezing weather and the type of precipitation we accumulated, the ground had turned to ice and crunch...The trees had on them a nice layer of ice which made for a beautiful glittering picture.

Yes, "new" is the word to describe. A new life with a husband, new people, new weather,
and new thoughts...just plain newness...

One thing that is not new, will never grow old, expire, nor become invalid...is God's promise.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo,
I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
