This Little Girl

This little girl and her 2 older brothers were being rocked by their mother in a big brown recliner. Mother was singing, " Come morning I'll walk by the river I'll rest 'neath the evergreen tree" and " The prettiest roses there will ever be growing by those pearly white mansions fair in the sunlight glowing and a river so clear like a bubbling fount is flowing...for heaven is the prettiest place of all."
She was sitting by the window with her elbows resting on the windowsill and was watching her mother who was in the backyard hanging the jeans on the clothes line. She must have been thinking what a kind-hardworking mother she was...or how pretty she was...
This little girl sat on her daddy's lap during the church service...one Sunday she remembers looking around and realizing she was the only girl on the Men's side!
She was singing in the school Christmas program...also had a part to recite...her parents and grandparents were in the audience and she wanted to make them proud..so she did her best.
This little girl was spending time with her neighbor friends, having a sleep over....typical for little girls, there was lots of giggles, dressing up, and making up of stories...
She enjoyed playing dodge ball, soccer, basketball, and softball with her friends at school...she had a competitive spirit and played with her heart. Come year end picnic she could hardly sleep the night before because of such excitement about the games.
This little girl isn't so little anymore...She grew up...She's finding her place in the world...God has a calling for her and she is fulfilling that calling...He loved her so much He gave her someone to love and to love her back.
I'm getting married!;)

  3. Oh how time flies...for my little girl is all grown up now and starting her own home! I know she will be happy in her new surroundings...for God led her there and that's where she belongs now...I would love to keep her here with me always by my side but alas, where her Maker has led her is the best place for her to be! As is with us all... Love you, and you are never far from me...Your Mom
