Heart of Faith

I'm looking at my life today and finding things to change.
"Lord, search my heart. Show me what I need to rearrange"...
It's then I see the world and it's influences around me.
They've entered my heart and mind, creating some debris.
The fashions, entertainment, and popular opinions
Had started to tempt my heart and take dominion.
The preacher said, "a heart divided cannot stand!"
but, God can preserve us, though we live in an evil land.
We must be willing to give Him control of our heart.
Only then can He, His love and mercy within us, impart.
He has made a God-sized hole that only He can fill.
If we let Him, He abides in us and His peace instills.
He gives us the ability to discern wrong from right,
For His spirit lives within us and He is the light.
His love will surround you as you follow His command.
Nothing seems too hard when you've given Him your hand.
His perfect love casteth out all worry, distresses, and fears.
The thought of His endless, divine love brings me to tears.
"Lord, lead and direct me through this corrupt and evil world.
Shield me from temptation and from the darts at me are hurled."
Then He comforted me and into my heart, this verse stole.
"Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole;" .
