Fear Driven Comfort
I realized that I have a comfort zone. I hate to admit that, but I do. I'm very familiar with it. Inside my little zone I feel secure. I protect myself from getting hurt. I shield myself from disappointments and failure. Sometimes I invite my friends into my zone, but not everybody can fit within its tight walls. My zone seems to suffocate me till I can barely move or even breathe.
Sometimes people will cower when an opportunity to try something new is handed to them. Maybe they are fearful of disappointing themselves or scared to step out of their secure surroundings. Overthinking and worrying about how things will turn out is exhausting. God did not intend for us to live in a state of fear or anxiety. He wanted us to live, completely within His love, where there is absolutely no fear. He wants us to explore and enjoy all the beautiful things He's given us. I would love to see more people stepping out and trying new things. Also I wouldn't mind never hearing this statement,"Oh I could never do that!" when they've never tried it before. Worries, fear, and anxiety can drive people into their comfort zone. It can bring a person down to a place where they feel like they've lost themselves. Also, just everyday pressures of life can cause someone to overthink and worry too much. There is no reason why we have to live our lives with that kind of stress. God has our lives in His hands. He also wants us to give Him our burdens. That means all our worries, fear, and stresses too...
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Isaiah 41:13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
Psalms 56:3-4 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
Deuteronomy 31:8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
