Fascination with Nature
Have you ever watched a sunrise?...
The sun starts to lighten the sky and the stars start to disappear. It creeps up until finally you see the tip of the sun peeking over the mountains in the distance. The crisp morning air seems to refresh your whole being. The dew that is resting on the leaves, sparkles in the sunlight. I watch the sun as it slowly reveals itself and it doesn't take long until...there it is. In all it's glory. Every noise seems to be amplified in the fresh air. There are no sounds of children playing in the yard or of tractors being used. They're still sound asleep. All I hear is the sound of traffic and birds chirping up in the trees somewhere.
Have you ever taken a walk through a forest?...
The leaves from the trees cover the ground all around me. There are dead branches scattered every which way. Little curious squirrels stop their running to sit and stare at me. It's quiet but when I yell or make a loud sound it echoes a couple times. There's a creek if you can find it. I like to walk down the creek jumping from rock to rock. Sometimes I find one that makes for a nice seat. From there I try to skip a few rocks.
Have you ever driven through a desert?...
It looks so dry and barren, but there is so much life there! It's amazing how God created life that can survive in the desert. There are little bushes and cactuses for miles around. There's so much life there but you'd hardly think that!
Have you ever been to the coast?...
I sink into the sand a ways with every step I take. There is the constant sound of the waves rolling in and out of the shoreline. It's a good place to relax. The sound is soothing. I like to look down while I walk down by the water to make sure I don't step on any sea weed or jelly fish. The breezy air smells of the sea. As I walk through the water, a wave comes up, hits my legs, and sprays the rest of me with it's salty water. It doesn't taste very good. The sea gulls flock around and are always looking for food.
Nature isn't only beautiful and breathtaking.
Have you ever noticed that God uses nature to heal,
comfort, inspire, and to reassure us?...
